Chalet Desserts was originally located in Hayward California producing many upscale quality desserts. It is famous for it’s Tiramisu, Brownies, Carrot Cake and many flavors of Cheesecakes. Chalet Desserts also produced many small inclusions for use in ice cream including tiramisu, cookie dough, brownies and cheesecake pieces. Chalet Desserts was acquired by Harte Foods along with Bako Products, Inc. in Sacramento, California and the operations transferred to the Bako Products Plant in 2006. The company operated as Bako Products, Inc. until 2011 when the operations were consolidated under Chalet Desserts.
Management includes David Laukat as CEO of Chalet Desserts with a background of over 30 years of food manufacturing experience. He built Guernsey Bel, Inc. from a start up operation to a $42 million in revenue bakery and confectionery business with a 160,000 square foot plant in Chicago, Illinois. Guernsey Bel, Inc. was ultimately acquired by Kerry Group plc a large public Ireland based company in 2003.
David Laukat started Harte Foods, Inc. in 2004 before acquiring Chalet Desserts and Bako Products, Inc. in 2005.
Chalet Desserts now has two focuses of businesses. One is supporting in store bakeries for large and medium grocery chains with bakery and confectionery products. The other is the inclusion business for bakery and confection products for use in ice cream and as frozen yogurt toppings.
